Radikalische C─H‐Aroylierung von Allenen mittels kooperativer Photoredox‐ und N‐heterozyklischer Carben‐Katalyse

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Exploring Mesoionic Imine‐Carbodiimide (MII‐CDI) Adducts: 1,3 H‐Shift, N(I) Compounds and Guanidinate‐Type Ligands

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the unique reactivity of a mesoionic imine with bis‐aryl carbodiimides, forming an MII‐CDI adduct at room temperature via a spontaneous 1,3‐H shift. These MII‐CDI adducts serve as important synthons for mesoionic carbene‐acyclic diamino carbene‐stabilized nitreones (I) and guanidinate‐type ligands.

The Chemistry and Biology of the Tetrodotoxin Natural Product Family

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Tetrodotoxin is best known as the poison of the pufferfish, which is a delicacy in Japanese cuisine. Its toxicity arises from the selective blockage of NaV channels, which is depicted for the NaV1.7 pore, highlighting the DEKA motif, which permeates sodium ions.

Intriguing Reactivity of a 1,2‐Dihydrodialumane Towards Organic Azides – From a Terminal Diazido–Dialumane to Pendulum‐Clock‐Like Azide Bridging

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
The reaction of a dihydro‐dialane supported by a hybrid ligand (DNI) with organic azides yields structurally diverse aluminium species, including the first example of low oxidation state aluminium azide complex, a diazido‐dialane, along with an aluminium‐tetrazole, and azide alumination.
