Real‐Time In Situ Raman Monitoring of Photomechanochemical Reactions

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
A proof‐of‐principle setup for real‐time in situ monitoring photomechanochemical reactions is presented, using photoisomerization of azobenzenes, and photolysis of adamantane diazirine, as model reactions. With 4‐methoxyazobenzene it is also shown that multiple photoisomerization cycles can be performed and monitored in a ball mill, while with ...

Surface Characterization of N‐Heterocyclic Carbenes on Gold and Silver: Exploring Distinct Crystalline Facets

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
This study investigates the self‐assembly of N‐heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) on gold and silver substrates with different crystalline facets. A marked difference in assembly is observed when transitioning from (111) to (100) facets. Additionally, surface reconstruction appears to significantly influence the assembly behavior.

Molecular Hydrogen as a Proton Donor in HH···F Hydrogen Bonds—BF4−···(H2)n Clusters

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
The MP2/6‐311++G(d,p) calculations performed on the BF4−···H2 complex and BF4−···(H2)n clusters indicate the occurrence within the HH···F hydrogen bonds. These are weak interactions of energies of about −1.7 kcal mol−1 where the main stabilizing forces are related to the electron charge shifts.

Room‐Temperature Luminescence from a Biscyclometalated Platinum(II) Complex Bearing Radical as Ancillary Ligand

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
Biscyclometalated platinum(II) complex bearing a persistent radical is reported. The complex possesses a doublet emission excited state (D2) with a short excited state lifetime at room temperature and a long excited triplet (T1) excited state lifetime at 77 K.

Sustainable Hydrogen Production by Glycerol and Monosaccharides Catalytic Acceptorless Dehydrogenation (AD) in Homogeneous Phase

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Sustainable hydrogen production can be obtained from hydogen‐rich biomass‐derived organic molecules through Acceptorless Dehydrogenation (AD) reactions. Glycerol and sugars are available in large quantities from industry and can be successfully used as substrates in AD protocols, in the presence of tailored, selective, easily tunable and thermally ...
