Taming of Low‐Valent Arsenic Compounds and Transfer of Nascent As2 Facilitated by a Frustrated Lewis Pair

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 3, 16 January 2026.
A series of frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) stabilized arsenic compounds with formal oxidation numbers at As of +1, 0, and −1 are presented. A stable FLP‐chelated complex of As2 was prepared which undergoes the light‐induced release of nascent diarsenic, As2nasc, which reveals clean triple‐bond type reactivity with dienes and metal‐metal bonds under mild ...

Cyclodextrin‐Encapsulated N‐Heterocyclic Carbene–Copper(I) Complexes for Homogeneous Catalysis in Pure Water: Anaerobic Oxidation of Arylboronic Acids with Water as the Formal Oxidant

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 3, January 22, 2026.
Cyclodextrin(CD)‐encapsulated N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC)‐copper(I) complexes based on modified permethylated α or β CDs catalyze the ipso‐hydroxylation‐deborylation reaction of arylboronic acids in pure water at low copper loading. The reaction is favored by triethylamine and is compatible with various functionalized substrates.
