Insertion of Carbenes into Deprotonated nido-Undecaborane, B11H13(2-)
We have examined the insertion of carbenes carrying leaving groups into the [nido-B11H13]2− dianion to form the [closo-1-CB11H12]− anion. The best procedure uses CF3SiMe3 and LiCl as the source of CF2.

How to Make 8,1,2-closo-MC2B9 Metallacarboranes [PDF]
Three examples of the rare 8,1,2-closo-MC2B9 isomeric form of an icosahedral metallacarborane have been isolated as unexpected trace products in reactions.

Quantum-mechanical calculations of the stabilities of fluxional isomers of C_4H_7^+ in solution [PDF]
Although numerous quantum calculations have been made over the years of the stabilities of the fluxional isomers of C4H7+, none have been reported for other than the gas phase (which is unrealistic for these ionic species) that exhibit exceptional ...

Heterolytic H2 activation on a carbene-ligated rhodathiaborane promoted by isonido-nido cage opening [PDF]
A new mechanism of H2 activation is reported to occur on a carbene-ligated rhodathiaborane that features metal-thiaborane bifunctional synergistic effects.

B-12(SCN)(12)(-): An Ultrastable Weakly Coordinating Dianion [PDF]
Stable dianions that are weakly coordinating with metal ions are not common. In this work, we show that the thiocyanate SCN- anion, known for its detoxification property of cyanide CN- and antidegradation property of perovskite solar cell materials, can ...
