Construction of a Multitissue Cell Atlas Reveals Cell‐Type‐Specific Regulation of Molecular and Complex Phenotypes in Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research conducts an in‐depth investigation of cell‐type‐specific regulatory mechanisms underlying molecular and complex phenotypes through integrative analysis of multitissue single‐nucleus RNA sequencing, bulk RNA‐seq, and genome‐wide association study (GWAS) data in pigs.

Non-carcass parts and carcass composition of high dairy genetic merit Holstein, standard dairy genetic merit Friesian and Charolais × Holstein-Friesian steers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
peer-reviewedThe increased use of Holstein genetic material in the dairy herd has consequences for beef production. A total of 24 spring-born calves comprising 8 Holsteins (HO), 8 Friesians (FR) and 8 Charolais × Holstein-Friesians (CH) were reared from ...

Innovative Metasurface Colorimetric Cell‐on‐a‐Chip Sensor for Continuous, Label‐Free, Non‐Destructive Assessment of Intestinal Barrier Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a real‐time, label‐free, high‐throughput cell‐on‐a‐chip system based on a metasurface plasmon resonance colorimetric sensor (MetaSPRCS) to evaluate intestinal barrier function. This platform enables continuous monitoring of cell adhesion, proliferation, and barrier layer formation, disruption, and repair.

Comparison of pasture and concentrate finishing of Holstein Friesian, Aberdeen Angus × Holstein Friesian and Belgian Blue × Holstein Friesian steers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
peer-reviewedCrossbreeding Holstein Friesian dairy cows with both early and late maturing beef breed bulls is common in Ireland. This study concerned the comparison of spring-born Holstein Friesian (HF), Aberdeen Angus × Holstein Friesian (AA) and ...

Multi‐Tissue Omics Analysis Uncovers Translational Regulation Underlying Complex Traits in Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omics across pig breeds and tissues reveals key principles of post‐transcriptional translational regulation and their contribution to trait formation. A gene network framework integrating transcriptomic and translatomic data is developed and applied to elucidate the genetic basis of meat production, offering new insights into mammalian

Livestock Tango: U.S. and Latin America Dance Together, but Who Will Lead?

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the competitiveness between Latin American and U.S. livestock and meat sectors. We employ a computable general equilibrium modeling framework to evaluate two scenarios: coordinated improvements in Latin American productivity, transport efficiency, and market access (Scenario I), and the minimum productivity gains required ...
