Abstract Gastric abscess is a rare condition caused by gastric barrier damage. It is easily misdiagnosed in clinical practice as a cancer recurrence or submucosal tumor, especially after surgery or endoscopic submucosal dissection. Abstract A 70‐year‐old male with lung cancer and interstitial pneumonia was diagnosed with ampullary carcinoma, causing obstructive jaundice. After the failure of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic ultrasound‐guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS‐HGS) was performed with a 7‐Fr plastic stent (PS) into the B2 bile duct.
