COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Infiltration characteristics and regulatory mechanisms of CD8+ T lymphocytes in solid tumors: spatial distribution, biological functions, and interactions with the immune microenvironment

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
CD8+ T lymphocytes are central effectors of anticancer immunity. Their abundance and spatial distribution within solid tumors are strongly correlated with patient prognosis and response to immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Tumors have been categorized

Bioinformatic Analysis and In Vitro and In Vivo Experiments Reveal That Fibrillarin Participates in the Promotion of Lung Metastasis in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesBioengineering, 2022
Lung metastasis, the most frequent metastatic pattern in hepatocellular carcinoma, is an important contributor to poor prognosis. However, the mechanisms responsible for lung metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma remain unknown.

Comparison of conservative treatment versus transcatheter arterial embolisation for the treatment of spontaneously ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: To elucidate the prognostic factors in the spontaneous rupture of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to determine whether transcatheter arterial embolisation (TAE) is associated with better prognosis compared to conservative treatment.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

ONC206 targeting ClpP induces mitochondrial dysfunction and protective autophagy in hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common form of liver cancer, accounting for approximately 90 % of all cases. ONC201, a member of the imipridone drug family, has shown promising therapeutic potential and a good safety profile in both malignant ...

Emerging Therapies for Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

open access: yesCancers, 2022
Simple Summary Primary liver cancer, also known as Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is considered to be a major global health challenge. Due to delays in diagnosis at early asymptomatic stages, HCC reaches a severe aggressive stage, thereby having a ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.
