Human microbiota colonization and pancreatic ductal carcinoma

Critical Reviews in Microbiology, 2022
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is an aggressive disease with a high mortality rate and a poor prognosis. The human microbiota has been confirmed to participate in oncogenesis and may influence the treatment response to both chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Hematogenous Metastases of Pancreatic Ductal Carcinoma

Pancreas, 1995
To investigate the heterogeneity of hematogenous metastases of pancreatic ductal carcinoma, we investigated carcinomatous spread in 130 autopsy cases. Hepatic metastases occurred most frequently, in 81 cases (62%), which may be explained by the fact that all veins draining the pancreas flow into the portal system.

Pancreatic ductal cell carcinoma producing pancreatic elastase 1

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1993
AbstractThe elevation of plasma pancreatic elastase 1 in patients with pancreatic cancer is caused by concomitant pancreatitis. There is no report that pancreatic ductal cell carcinoma tissue itself produced elastase 1. A 54‐year‐old woman underwent total pancreatectomy for pancreatic ductal cell carcinoma.

Pancreatic Microcystic Adenoma Coexistent with Pancreatic Ductal Carcinoma

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1990
We report two cases of microcystic (glycogen-rich) adenoma of the pancreas with coexistent pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Both patients presented with an epigastric mass. On laparotomy, each had two separate pancreatic tumors. The benign tumors were composed of small cysts with a flattened to cuboidal glycogen-rich epithelium.

Pancreatic Acinar Cell Carcinomas With Prominent Ductal Differentiation: Mixed Acinar Ductal Carcinoma and Mixed Acinar Endocrine Ductal Carcinoma

American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2010
Pancreatic acinar cell carcinomas (ACCs) are clinically and pathologically distinct from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAs). Whereas endocrine differentiation has been well shown in ACCs, significant ductal components are rare. This paper reviews the clinicopathologic features of a series of ACCs with prominent ductal differentiation.Cases of ...
