Abstract Although seed represents an important means of plant pathogen dispersion, the seed–pathogen dialogue remains largely unexplored. A multiomic approach was performed at different seed developmental stages of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) during asymptomatic colonization by Xanthomonas citri pv.

The physicochemical properties of cardiolipin bilayers and cardiolipin-containing lipid membranes
In this review article, we summarize the current state of biophysical knowledge concerning the phase behavior and organization of cardiolipin (CL) and CL-containing phospholipid bilayer model membranes. We first briefly consider the occurrence and distribution of CL in biological membranes and its probable biological functions therein. We next consider

Mitophagy in skeletal muscle: Impact of ageing, exercise and disuse
Abstract Skeletal muscle plays an important role in whole‐body health, quality of life and regulation of metabolism. The maintenance of a healthy mitochondrial pool is imperative for the preservation of skeletal muscle quality and is mediated through mitochondrial quality control consisting of mitochondrial turnover mediated by a balance between ...

Cardiolipin and mitochondrial carriers
Members of the mitochondrial carrier family interact with cardiolipin (CL) as evident from a variety of functional and structural effects. CL stabilises carrier proteins on isolation with detergents, with the P(i) carrier as the prime example. CL is required for transport in reconstituted vesicles, prime examples are the P(i)- and ADP/ATP carrier (AAC).

Abstract figure legend Mitochondria are highly dynamic organelles that continuously remodel their architecture through coordinated cycles of fusion and fission. This review examines the four key GTPases that orchestrate mitochondrial dynamics in mammals: MFN1, MFN2, OPA1, and DRP1.

Abstract figure legend Calciprotein particles (CPPs) are small calcium‐ and phosphate‐containing nanoaggregates associated with the development of vascular disease (CVD) in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Previously, we have shown that CPPs induce endothelial cell (EC) dysfunction, possibly contributing to CVD in CKD, but the underlying molecular ...
