The interplay between dynamic regulation of ion‐channel gating and trafficking in cardiac arrhythmogenesis

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Cardiac cellular electrophysiology is modulated by multiple factors, including temperature, extracellular K+, heart rate/pacing frequency, and drugs. These modulators can have distinct effects on ion‐channel gating and transcription/trafficking over time.

Age‐ and sex‐specific modulation of human cardiac electrophysiology by doxorubicin

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend DOX differentially impacts cardiac electrophysiology based on sex and age. Sex differences were primarily observed among younger hearts, where action potential duration (APD) prolongation was observed in females, but not in males. Created using BioRender. George, S. (2026) https://BioRender.com/wresf1k Abstract Acute doxorubicin (

Beat‐to‐beat variability of ventricular repolarization reveals sex‐specific instability and proarrhythmic risk

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend A mechanistic framework linking sex‐dependent dynamical instability to proarrhythmic risk. Sex‐specific human ventricular models show that upstream modulators, including biological sex, hormones, drugs and heart disease, promote steeper APD restitution in female than male and enhance dynamical instability.

Machine Learning‐Enabled Prediction of pH‐Responsive Curcumin Release From Self‐Assembled Nanomicelles

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 36, September 20, 2026.
Curcumin encapsulation in nanomicelles coupled with a machine learning–guided model for predicting its release profile. ABSTRACT This work, leveraging machine‐learning algorithms, focuses on the design and in vitro evaluation of oil‐in‐water surfactant‐based nanomicelles as a novel curcumin formulation with comparable cytotoxic effects against MCF‐7 ...

Prevotella loescheii attenuates pregnancy‐induced hypertension by reshaping placental immunity and halting macrophage pyroptosis

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 3, September 2026.
Prevotella loescheii alleviates pregnancy‐induced hypertension (PIH) by reshaping the placental immune microenvironment, suppressing oxidative stress (OS)‐mediated NLRP3 pyroptosis, and restoring short‐chain fatty acid (SCFA) metabolic homeostasis. P. loescheii alleviates PIH by reshaping the placental immune microenvironment, suppressing OS‐mediated ...

Artificial Intelligence Resources for the Screening of Titles and Abstracts in Systematic Reviews: A Scoping Review

open access: yesCochrane Evidence Synthesis and Methods, Volume 4, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of technology enabling machines to emulate complex human skills; it can also entail problem‐solving using bioinspired methods. It is used for automating systematic literature reviews (SLR), that is, defining a clinical question, locating relevant literature, preliminary screening, study ...

Modulatory Role of Melatonin in Cyclophosphamide‐Treated Platelets: Insights From Ex Vivo Oxidative Stress Model

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 9, September 2026.
Cyclophosphamide (CYP) alters the redox status in platelets, resulting in oxidative damage and platelet dysfunction as a result of oxidative stress. Melatonin plays a protective role and mitigates the CYP‐induced oxidative stress by directly scavenging ROS and augmenting the antioxidant defenses.

Catecholamine cardiotoxicity

Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, 1985
The morphologic-functional correlative studies that we have carried out in the past 25 years with the various catecholamines have served as an example for analyzing myocardial reaction patterns and the reactions of the cardiac muscle cells to insult.
