Thermochemical Micro‐Explosion for Prompt Thrombolysis via Proximal Injection of Liquid Alkali Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a micro‐explosive thermochemical thrombolysis (METCT) therapy via injectable liquid alkali metal encapsulated in dimethyl silicone (LAM@oil). METCT enables prompt and safe vascular recanalization within 90 s. Critically, the LAM@oil system demonstrates significantly higher thrombolytic efficacy compared to clinically available thrombolytic ...

Role of respiration in the cardiovascular response to orthostatic and mental stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The objective of this study was to determine the response of heart rate and blood pressure variability (respiratory sinus arrhythmia, baroreflex sensitivity) to orthostatic and mental stress, focusing on causality and the mediating effect of respiration.

Bending‐Resistant Intimate 3D Graphene–Metal Heterojunctions for Highly Sensitive and Robust Flexible Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A reservoir‐guided silver‐nanoparticle soldering strategy is developed for bending‐resistant 3D graphene–metal heterojunctions. Controlled hot‐plate evaporation confines conductive ink within the metal reservoir, suppressing spreading and protecting the LIG interface from deformation‐induced fracture.

P6.19 PHYSIOLOGICAL CORRELATES OF AORTIC RESERVOIR AND EXCESS PRESSURE IN MAN

open access: yesArtery Research, 2013
Background: Central (aortic) blood pressure (BP) indices independently predict cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality, but the physiological mechanisms underlying aortic BP waveform morphology are subject to debate.

The RNA‐Binding Protein PARN Remodeled 3′ UTR Structure Defines Poly(A)‐Loading Sites to Mediate Immunoglobulin Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Class Switch Recombination (CSR) is essential for generating high‐affinity antibody isotypes from IgM during adaptive humoral responses. Despite well‐established roles for various transcription factors, whether CSR is subject to dedicated post‐transcriptional control represents a significant gap in knowledge.

Resource sharing in rat gestation: role of maternal cardiovascular hemodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
There is a substantial decrease in blood pressure (BP) in late pregnancy in the laboratory rat. It is so pronounced that manipulations that produce sustained elevations in BP in nonpregnant animals have little or no effect during pregnancy.

Effect of single bout aerobic and resistance exercise on the pain perception and cardiovascular responses in women with multiple sclerosis

open access: yesThe Journal of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences, 2016
Background: Based on new evidence, exercise with type and intensity consideration may impact on pain relief and good cardiovascular responses in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Review of Zero-D and 1-D Models of Blood Flow in the Cardiovascular System

open access: yesBioMedical Engineering OnLine, 2011
Background Zero-dimensional (lumped parameter) and one dimensional models, based on simplified representations of the components of the cardiovascular system, can contribute strongly to our understanding of circulatory physiology. Zero-D models provide a

Topologically Structured PLLA Fibers With Stress Concentration Effects for Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a multi‐path strategy was developed to enhance the piezoelectric properties of PLLA fibers through the stress concentration effect. The optimized devices generate piezoelectric output up to 14 times that of pure PLLA fibers. This piezoelectric enhancement strategy offers a new approach for high‐performance piezoelectric devices, with ...

L’inflammation postprandiale : les données récentes suggèrent un rôle préventif des protéines alimentaires et de leur nature

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2011
It is now well known that a high-energy meal that is rich in saturated fat and sugars induces the transient appearance of some metabolic dysregulations and inflammatory-related phenomena in the postprandial state, in close association with the increase ...
