Exercício e restrição alimentar aumentam o RNAm de proteínas do trânsito de Ca2+ miocárdico em ratos Ejercicio y restricción alimenticia aumentan el rnam de proteínas del tránsito de Ca2+ miocárdico en ratones Upregulation of mRNA myocardium calcium handling in rats submitted to exercise and food restriction

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2011
FUNDAMENTO: Treinamento físico (TF) aumenta a sensibilidade dos hormônios tireoidianos (HT) e a expressão gênica de estruturas moleculares envolvidas no movimento intracelular de cálcio do miocárdio, enquanto a restrição alimentar (RIA) promove efeitos ...

The iron-sulfur cluster assembly machineries in plants: current knowledge and open questions

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2013
Many metabolic pathways and cellular processes occurring in most sub-cellular compartments depend on the functioning of iron-sulfur (Fe-S) proteins, whose cofactors are assembled through dedicated protein machineries.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Mitochondrial precursor proteins are imported through a hydrophilic membrane environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
We have analyzed how translocation intermediates of imported mitochondrial precursor proteins, which span contact sites, interact with the mitochondrial membranes.

Protein Carrier AAV

open access: yes
ABSTRACT AAV is widely used for efficient delivery of DNA payloads. The extent to which the AAV capsid can be used to deliver a protein payload is unexplored. Here, we report engineered AAV capsids that directly package proteins – Protein Carrier AAV (pcAAV). Nanobodies inserted into the interior of the capsid mediate

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

A novel approach for measuring sphingosine-1-phosphate and lysophosphatidic acid binding to carrier proteins using monoclonal antibodies and the Kinetic Exclusion Assay

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2016
Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) and lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) are bioactive signaling lysophospholipids that activate specific G protein-coupled receptors on the cell surface triggering numerous biological events.

Role of ATP in mitochondrial protein import [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The role of nucleoside triphosphates (NTPs) in the import of porin into the mitochondrial outer membrane was investigated with two forms of the porin precursor: the in vitro synthesized biosynthetic precursor (bs- porin) and a water-soluble form of porin

Primary fibroblasts from CSPα mutation carriers recapitulate hallmarks of the adult onset neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Mutations in the co- chaperone protein, CSPα, cause an autosomal dominant, adult-neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (AD-ANCL). The current understanding of CSPα function exclusively at the synapse fails to explain the autophagy-lysosome pathway (ALP ...
