The development of induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)has enabled the acquisition of patient-specific chondrocytes by converting somatic cells, such as dermal fibroblasts or blood cells, from patients to iPSCs and then differentiating them toward chondrocytes. We can further generate cartilage tissue from iPSC-derived chondrocytes.
