Strange quark suppression and strange hadron production in pp collisions at RHIC and LHC
The parton and hadron cascade model PACIAE based on PYTHIA was utilized to systematically investigate the strange particle production in pp collisions at the RHIC and LHC energies.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

1,4-Dihydro-4-(nitromethyl)-2-phenyl-1-tosylquinoline-3-carbaldehyde
An aza-Michael/Michael cascade reaction of 2-((E)-2-nitrovinyl)-N-tosylbenzenamine with 3-phenylpropiolaldehyde catalyzed by pyrrolidine has produced a new compound, 1,4-dihydro-4-(nitromethyl)-2-phenyl-1-tosylquinoline-3-carbaldehyde.

Intranuclear cascade models lack dynamic flow [PDF]
We study the recent claim that the intranuclear cascade model exhibits collective sidewards flow. 4000 intranuclear cascade simulations of the reaction Nb(400 MeV/nucleon)+Nb are performed employing bound and unbound versions of the Cugnon cascade.

Compartmentalization of incompatible reagents within Pickering emulsion droplets for one-pot cascade reactions [PDF]
It is a dream that future synthetic chemistry can mimic living systems to process multistep cascade reactions in a one-pot fashion. One of the key challenges is the mutual destruction of incompatible or opposing reagents, for example, acid and base ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Azimuthal correlations of pions in relativistic heavy ion collisions at 1 GeV/nucl. [PDF]
Triple differential cross sections of pions in heavy ion collisions at 1 GeV/nucl. are studied with the IQMD model. After discussing general properties of $\Delta$ resonance and pion production we focus on azimuthal correlations: At projectile- and ...
