Liquiritin Exerts a Dual Effect on BMSCs Osteogenic Differentiation and Fracture Healing by Activating the ERK/JNK Pathway and Providing Antioxidant Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Liquiritin enhances the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs and promotes fracture healing through the activation of the ERK/JNK signaling pathway and by exerting antioxidant protective effects. Abstract Liquiritin, a flavonoid from Glycyrrhiza uralensis L., has diverse pharmacological properties, but its impact on fracture healing is unexplored.

Lycium barbarum Glycopeptide Alleviates Neomycin‐Induced Ototoxicity by Inhibiting Tryptophan Hydroxylase‐Mediated Serotonin Biosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lycium barbarum glycopeptide (LBGP), which is further extracted from Lycium barbarum polysaccharides, exhibits significant protective effects against neomycin‐induced hearing dysfunction including oxidative stress in cochlea and loss of key cells in cochlea.

Caspase 1 and caspase 8 in HIV infected patients with and without tuberculosis.

open access: yesJournal of postgraduate medicine, 2005
Caspase 8 is involved in apoptosis mediated by Fas and p55 tumor necrosis factor receptor ligation in HIV infection. Apoptosis is partially mediated by interleukin-1beta-converting enzyme (caspase-1).We determined apoptosis, using caspase-1 and caspase-8, among patients with HIV infection, with and without tuberculosis (TB), those with TB alone and ...

Bilirubin Targeting WNK1 to Alleviate NLRP3‐Mediated Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
At physiological concentrations, bilirubin binds to the kinase domain of WNK1, thereby augmenting its activity and facilitating the phosphorylation of downstream SPAK/OSR1. This phosphorylation inhibits KCC2 activity, leading to elevate intracellular chloride levels in neurons.
