Human biomarker navigator

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
The Human Biomarker Navigator integrates the disease continuum, biomarker dynamics, cross‐organ biomarker networks, biomarker classification, and technology‐driven paradigms. It maps how biomarkers link multi‐system physiology and pathology across the nervous, respiratory, endocrine, circulatory, immune, digestive, urinary, reproductive, and ...

A Case of Anti-Caspr2 Autoimmune Encephalitis Associated with Adenocarcinoma of the Lung

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine, 2022
Autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) is an inflammatory brain condition with multiple aetiologies but is mainly associated with paraneoplastic syndromes. Several antibodies described in AIE are being investigated in relation to different cancers, including ...

Sequential and Concurrent C5 and Neonatal Fc Receptor Inhibition in Prolonged Myasthenic Crisis due to Advanced Invasive Thymoma‐Associated Myasthenia Gravis: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Neuroimmunology, Volume 17, Issue 4, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Thymoma‐associated myasthenia gravis (TAMG) is frequently refractory, particularly when complicated by myasthenic crisis in advanced invasive disease. Complement C5 inhibitors and neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) inhibitors have expanded the treatment of acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody‐positive generalized myasthenia gravis; however, their ...

Clinical characteristics and long-term outcome of CASPR2 antibody-associated autoimmune encephalitis in children

open access: yesItalian Journal of Pediatrics
Background Contactin-associated protein-2(CASPR2) antibody-associated autoimmune encephalitis(AE) is rare in children. This study aimed to report the clinical characteristics and long-term outcome of CASPR2 autoimmunity in children to expand the disease ...

Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis and MOG-associated demyelination – a case report with long-term follow-up and a systematic review

open access: yesBMC Neurology, 2022
Background Overlap syndromes of anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis and MOG-mediated demyelination have been reported. In this case we provide a long-term longitudinal follow-up of clinical and imaging characteristics as well as of antibody dynamics.

Frontotemporal Dementia with Parkinsonism and Epilepsy Associated with VGKC Antibodies: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesCase Reports in Neurology, 2021
Antibodies directed against the voltage-gated potassium channel complex (anti-VGKCs) are implicated in several autoimmune conditions including limbic encephalitis and epilepsy. However, emerging evidence suggests that only specific subtypes of anti-VGKCs

Possible Paraneoplastic Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Presenting as Respiratory Failure in a Breast Cancer Patient: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
In a breast cancer patient with acute hypercapnic respiratory failure, paraneoplastic ALS was diagnosed despite negative onconeural antibodies. Red flags included diaphragmatic paralysis, ESR of 120 mm/h, and CSF protein of 246 mg/dL. Clinicians should consider this diagnosis even when antibody panels are negative.

Uncommon Pediatric Immune-Mediated Epilepsy: Disease Course, Diagnosis, and Outcome – A Series of Three Cases

open access: yesAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology
Immune-mediated epilepsy (IME) constitutes a substantial proportion of drug-refractory epilepsies. Rapid diagnosis and prompt immunosuppression are required along with antiseizure medications (ASMs).

Pyruvate dehydrogenase autoantibodies in autoantibody‐negative patients with seizures are associated with reduced pyruvate dehydrogenase activity

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 67, Issue 8, Page 4078-4094, August 2026.
Abstract Objective We investigated the presence and potential functional relevance of antimitochondrial autoantibodies in patients suspicious for autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) associated with psychiatric symptoms and/or seizures, who were negative for known antineuronal autoantibodies.
