Synergistic studies of Cassia tora gum with xanthan and guar gum: Carboxymethyl synthesis of cassia gum-xanthan synergistic blend and characterization

Carbohydrate Research, 2023
The present study describes the study of synergistic behavior of the Cassia tora (CTG) gum with xanthan gum (XG) and comparison with CTG and guar gum (GG) at varying temperatures. A carboxymethyl derivative of CTG: XG blend, having synergistic activity was synthesized and the reaction conditions were optimized using Taguchi's L'9 statistical design ...

Synthesis of carbamoylethyl Cassia angustifolia seed gum in an aqueous medium

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2016
The Cassia angustifolia seed gum (CAG), a galactomannan, isolated from the seeds of C. angustifolia was subjected to the carbamoylethylation which involved the reaction of CAG with acrylamide in an aqueous medium (water) in the presence of alkali (NaOH) as a catalyst.

Carboxymethylation of Cassia angustifolia seed gum: Synthesis and rheological study

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2015
The seeds of Cassia angustifolia are a rich source of galactomannan gum. The seed gums possess a wide variety of industrial applications. To utilize C. angustifolia seed gum for broader industrial applications, the carboxymethyl-Cassia angustifolia seed gum (CM-CAG) was synthesized.

Promising alternative gum: Extraction, characterization, and oxidation of the galactomannan of Cassia fistula

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2020
Galactomannan extracted from Cassia fistula seed endosperm present little data related to the its structural characterization. This study reports the chemical characterization of the galactomannan from Cassia fistula (CF) and their oxidized derivatives. The extracted CF presented a yield of 26.5% (w/w) and the intrinsic viscosity [η] was 9.73 dL/g.
