A non-ionic seed-gum from cassia corymbosa
Carbohydrate Research, 1984Abstract A polysaccharide has been extracted from Cassia corymbosa seeds with cold, acidulated water, and purified to give a water-soluble product containing d -galactose and d -mannose in 4:7 molar ratio. Acid-catalyzed fragmentation, periodate oxidation, methylation, and enzymic hydrolysis showed that the seed gum has a branched structure ...

Physicochemical Characterization of Seed Gum from Cassia Fistula
Key Engineering Materials, 2019Cassia fistula gum was purified and modified by isopropanol precipitation and carboxymethylation process respectively. The physicochemical property of both purified and modified gums were evaluated and compared to their crude gum. The mannose to galactose (M/G) ratio of purified gum was altered by purification process.

Chemical modification of Cassia occidentalis seed gum: carbamoylethylation
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2005Abstract The seeds of Cassia occidentalis, an annual weed occurring throughout India, is a rich source of galactomannan gum. The gum derived from seed endosperm can be potentially utilized in a number of industries to replace the conventional gums. With a view to utilize the gum for broader applications, carbamoylethylation of C.

A water-soluble seed gum was isolated from seed endosperm of Cassia javahikai. The acid-catalyzed fragmentation, methylation, selective enzymatic degradation and periodate oxidation suggested a heteropolymeric structure for the polysaccharide. The polysaccharide was shown to have a linear chain of beta(1-->4) linked d-mannopyranosyls units with side ...

ABSTRACTCassia tora, an annual shrub, is a promising but underexplored source of galactomannan, comparable to widely used sources, such as fenugreek, guar, and locust bean. Galactomannans are heteropolysaccharides composed of galactose and mannose, valued for their role as dietary fibers and texture modifiers in food applications.
