Catechol Derivative‐Based Bioadhesives: Molecular Design for Precision Medical Adhesion
This study utilizes tree‐inspired side‐chain engineering to graft five catechol derivatives onto PVA, systematically revealing how side‐chain length and substituents regulate adhesion and cohesion properties. Among them, the PVA‐CA patch demonstrates superior tissue adhesion, biocompatibility, and promotes regeneration, establishing a programmable ...

Interactions between variation in candidate genes and environmental factors in the etiology of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder : a systematic review [PDF]
Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (BD) are complex and multidimensional disorders with high heritability rates. The contribution of genetic factors to the etiology of these disorders is increasingly being recognized as the action of multiple risk ...

A mechanochemical Kolbe–Schmitt reaction of disodium catecholate enables the synthesis of mono‐ and dicarboxylated catechols at low temperature and CO2 pressure. Directly derivatizing the resulting carboxylic acid and phenolic moieties in the obtained mixture provides plasticizer blends with efficiencies competitive to commercial benchmarks.

Tyrosinase and phenolic pressor amines [PDF]
Basic to the consideration of the action of tyrosinase on the oxidation of phenolic pressor amines are the observations of Keilin and Mann (16) and of Nelson and his coworkers (17-19) that show that different preparations may vary considerably in their ...
