This study develops a hydrogelation method for preparing hydrogels from precursors containing polymer‐PBA and HRP via H2O2‐triggered deboronation and subsequent enzymatic crosslinking. This hydrogelation method can impart dynamic properties to HRP‐mediated hydrogelation without any additives, thereby demonstrating the potential of this hydrogelation ...

High-valent copper in biomimetic and biological oxidations [PDF]
A long-standing debate in the Cu-O2 field has revolved around the relevance of the Cu(III) oxidation state in biological redox processes. The proposal of Cu(III) in biology is generally challenged as no spectroscopic or structural evidence exists ...

Interconnection of Key Microbial Functional Genes for Enhanced Benzo[a]pyrene Biodegradation in Sediments by Microbial Electrochemistry. [PDF]
Sediment microbial fuel cells (SMFCs) can stimulate the degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in sediments, but the mechanism of this process is poorly understood at the microbial functional gene level.

Distinction and mutual Influences between Parkinson's Disease‐related and unrelated Chronic Pain
Abstract Background Chronic pain (i.e. > 3 months) is a common nonmotor symptom in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), but the attribution to PD is critical for further treatment. Objectives We explored the PD Pain Classification System (PD‐PCS) criteria for the diagnosis of PD‐related pain and mutual influences between PD‐related and PD‐unrelated ...

2-Styrylchromones as novel inhibitors of xanthine oxidase. A structure-activity study [PDF]
The purpose of this study was the evaluation of the xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibition produced by some synthetic 2-styrylchromones. Ten polyhydroxylated derivatives with several substitution patterns were synthesised, and these and a positive control,

Abstract Background Findings are contradictory regarding changes in the incidence and prevalence of Parkinson's disease (PD) over time; data for other parkinsonian disorders are rare. Objectives To analyze temporal trends in the incidence and prevalence of eight parkinsonisms (PD, MSA, PSP, CBS, DLB, vascular parkinsonism, drug‐induced parkinsonism ...

Studies on phenolase enzymes in prawns. Pt. 1. The distribution and physical properties of phenolases in Penaeid prawns [PDF]
The distribution of phenolases in certain species of Penaeid prawns has been studied. Attempts were made to locate the regions of maximum enzyme activity in the prawns.

Properties of catechol oxidase from the snow crab.
A catechol oxidase (EC 1.10.3.1) was extracted from the gills of the snow crab, Chionoecetes opilio, and purified by ammonium sulfate fractionation, ion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose, and gel filtration on Sepharose 6B. Two active components (E-I and E-II) were obtained.

Movement Disorders Associated with 22q11.2 Microdeletion: A Scoping Review
Abstract Background Movement disorders have recently emerged as important neurologic manifestations of the 22q11.2 microdeletion that affects nearly one in every 2000 live births. Objective We aimed to map the existing evidence regarding the spectrum, diagnosis and treatment, and etiopathogenesis of movement disorders associated with 22q11.2 ...

Abstract Background As Parkinson's disease (PD) progresses, motor fluctuations become increasingly difficult to manage with oral medications. Foslevodopa/foscarbidopa (LDp/CDp), delivered as a continuous 24‐h/day subcutaneous infusion, offers continuous levodopa delivery and stable plasma levodopa levels that reduce motor fluctuations. LDp/CDp has been
