Physical computing: a category theoretic perspective on physical computation and system compositionality

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Complexity
This paper introduces a category theory-based framework to redefine physical computing in light of advancements in quantum computing and non-standard computing systems.

Category of chain bundles [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
For a category with subobjects and factorization, here we describe a new category which we call category of chain bundles and it is shown that this new category is also a category with subobjects and admits factorization under certain restriction. Further we provide several examples of bundle categories and discuss some interesting properties of these ...

Category Theory and Organic Electronics

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
Inorganic semiconductors and conducting polymers are described by band conduction models with delocalized electrons, whereas small-molecule organic compounds are described by hopping conduction between localized molecular orbitals. However, the latter devices can reproduce fully the characteristics of semiconductor devices.

Crosstalk between gut microbiota and tumor: tumors could cause gut dysbiosis and metabolic imbalance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this research, we analyzed the relationship between gut microbiota and tumor. We discovered that both subcutaneous and metastatic tumors would alter the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota. Meanwhile, fecal microbiota transplantation also indicated the anti‐tumor role of the gut microbiota, revealing the crosstalk between tumor and ...

Longitudinal predictors of weapon involvement in middle adolescence: Evidence from the UK Millennium Cohort Study

open access: yesAggressive Behavior, Volume 49, Issue 1, Page 5-14, January 2023., 2023
Abstract This study uses longitudinal data from the UK Millennium Cohort Study (N = 13,277) to examine the childhood and early adolescence factors that predict weapon involvement in middle adolescence, which in this study is exemplified by having carried or used a weapon.

Path categories and quasi-categories [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
This paper gives an introduction to the homotopy theory of quasi-categories. Weak equivalences between quasi-categories are characterized as maps which induce equivalences on a naturally defined system of groupoids. These groupoids effectively replace higher homotopy groups in quasi-category homotopy theory.

The accumulation of myeloid‐derived suppressor cells participates in abdominal infection‐induced tumor progression through the PD‐L1/PD‐1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores how sepsis affects GC progression by creating an immunosuppressive environment. Our findings reveal that sepsis promotes immune dysregulation, enhancing tumor growth and metastasis. Targeting the PD‐1/PD‐L1 pathway with monoclonal antibodies shows potential for restoring immune function and improving outcomes in cancer patients ...

Spillover and crossover effects of exposure to work‐related aggression and adversities: A dyadic diary study

open access: yesAggressive Behavior, Volume 49, Issue 1, Page 85-95, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The past two decades have produced extensive evidence on the manifold and severe outcomes for victims of aggression exposure in the workplace. However, due to the dominating individual‐centered approach, most findings miss a social network perspective.
