“Is logic a physical variable?” Introduction to the Special Issue

open access: yesZagadnienia Filozoficzne w Nauce, 2020
“Is logic a physical variable?” This thought-provoking question was put forward by Michael Heller during the public lecture “Category Theory and Mathematical Structures of the Universe” delivered on 30th March 2017 at the National Quantum Information ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Abstract Homotopy Theory and the Thomason Model structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
There is a closed model structure on the category of small categories, called Thomason model structure, that is Quillen equivalent to the standard model structure on the category of topological spaces.

Topological Quantum Field Theory and the Geometric Langlands Correspondence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the pioneering work of A. Kapustin and E. Witten, the geometric Langlands program of number theory was shown to be intimately related to duality of GL-twisted N=4 super Yang-Mills theory compactified on a Riemann surface. In this thesis, we generalize

Infinitesimal Structure of Singularities

open access: yesUniverse, 2017
Some important problems of general relativity, such as the quantisation of gravity or classical singularity problems, crucially depend on geometry on very small scales.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

The exploration of a category theory-based virtual Geometrical product specification system for design and manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes
In order to ensure quality of products and to facilitate global outsourcing, almost all the so-called “world-class” manufacturing companies nowadays are applying various tools and methods to maintain the consistency of a product’s characteristics ...

Category Theory-Based Mobile User Interface Pattern Recommendation Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Although using the mobile user interface pattern (MUIP) can increase the efficiency and quality of mobile interface development, the existing pattern search methods have some limitations to provide appropriate patterns for solving a given design problem.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

An Elementary Account of Flat 2-Functors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A set-valued functor is “flat” if its tensor product extension is finite-limit preserving. Such a functor is flat if, and only if, its category of elements is filtered.
