Diagnosing oncocytic renal tumours on renal mass biopsy; pathological concordance and the impact of evolving classification

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 88, Issue 5, Page 1036-1043, April 2026.
Overall, there was good concordance between renal mass biopsy and subsequent diagnosis at nephrectomy or repeat biopsy in oncocytic renal neoplasms. Some discordant cases were reclassified as emerging tumour entities (LOT, EVT), indicating that greater recognition of these entities may help reduce diagnostic uncertainty and improve biopsy ...

Development of a Self‐Adjuvanting Influenza Peptide–Glycolipid Conjugate Inducing CD8+ T‐Cell Immunity

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
The glycolipid‐peptide antigen complexes for self‐adjuvanting conjugates were successfully synthesized, and, with the HLA‐transgenic mice, the antigen‐specific CD8+ T cell expansion was exhibited. The results provide useful insights for the design and synthesis of vaccine conjugates using glycolipid antigen as an adjuvant.

Self‐Immolative Systems in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Applications

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
Self‐Immolative Systems enable the precise, residue‐free release of active molecules, drugs, probes, or sensors, via cyclization or elimination, triggered by specific stimuli. Their versatility drives advances in drug delivery, diagnostics, nanotechnology, materials chemistry, and biosensing, offering chemists control over molecular activation and ...

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 600, Issue 5, Page 591-611, March 2026.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Enhancing Magnetic Hyperthermia at the Cell Membrane by Anchoring 92R‐Functionalized Magnetic Nanoparticles to Low‐Endocytic CCR9 Surface Receptors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 10, 13 March 2026.
We present a strategy to enhance magnetic hyperthermia therapy by modulating nanoparticle–cell interactions. Antibody‐functionalized magnetic nanoparticles targeting the low‐internalizing CCR9 receptor enable spatially controlled membrane anchoring, reducing aggregation and maximizing heat generation under alternating magnetic fields.

In Situ Synthesis of Covalent Organic Frameworks Inside Cells for Triggering Ferroptosis and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
We have developed an intracellular crystalline polymerization strategy involving acid‐catalyzed imine condensation to synthesize COFs in lysosomes. The generation of COFs in lysosomes damages their integrity, activates iron species, and induces immunogenic ferroptosis, thereby enhancing antitumor immunotherapy.
