Fasciola gigantica cathepsin-L cysteine proteinase and recombinant cathepsin L 1-D were assessed for their potential in the immuno-diagnosis of F. gigantica infection in buffaloes. A diagnostic ELISA, based on these two antigens, was developed to detect antibodies against F. gigantica in water buffaloes. Sensitivity of the ELISA was assessed using sera

[Role and behavior of cathepsin B and cathepsin L in gastric cancer].
Orvosi hetilap, 1995Cathepsin B and cathepsin L--cysteine proteinases--may play an important role in cancer invasion and metastasis. The authors determined tissue antigen concentrations of cathepsins, using the ELISA method, in 25 patients with gastric cancer (17 males, 8 females, mean age 62, range 31-84).
