Abstract Smallholders produce 60% of global coffee (Coffea arabica) supply but lack recommendations on nutrient management. We tested hypothesized N‐ and K‐driven yield gaps using on‐farm omission trials established across 21 fields in Guatemala. The effects of a single and combined application of N (285 kg ha−1) and K (350 kg ha−1) were evaluated for ...

Leaf Nutrient Remobilization and Its Relationship With Root Growth in Arabica Coffee
The flow of nutrients from mature leaves to priority sinks as young leaves and roots is one of the strategies for efficient use of nutrients. This study aimed to evaluate the relative remobilization (RR) of N, P, K, Mg, Cu, Fe, and Zn from mature to young leaves during the development stages of coffee fruits and its relationship with root growth in ...

ABSTRACT Coffee leaf rust caused by Hemileia vastatrix and American leaf spot caused by Mycena citricolor are important fungal diseases of coffee that cause severe yield losses. While coffee leaf rust received much attention based on the recent outbreak in Latin America, we report here on an association pattern of American leaf spot with the presence ...
