Synaptobrevin‐2 Containing Extracellular Vesicles Are Rapidly Incorporated Into Mammalian Neurons via a Dynamin‐Dependent Pathway

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 9, September 2026.
In this article, Hannett and colleagues investigate extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by neurons, small membrane‐bound organelles that transmit information among cells. They found that EVs are mainly uptaken by target neurons via a mechanism dependent on the membrane scission protein Dynamin.

A Quarter Century of EHD Protein Research: From Endosomal Recycling to Ciliopathies

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 3, September 2026.
Human EHD protein subcellular localization. ABSTRACT Eps15 homology domain‐containing proteins comprise a conserved family of membrane‐remodeling ATPases that regulate endocytic trafficking, membrane fission, receptor recycling, primary ciliogenesis and membrane dynamics across eukaryotes. Since the initial identification of EHD1 and its Caenorhabditis

Functional Specialization of Clathrin‐Independent Endocytic Routes: Mechanisms and Cellular Roles

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 3, September 2026.
Distinct clathrin‐independent endocytic (CIE) routes support specialized cellular functions across different contexts. Created with Biorender.com. ABSTRACT Clathrin‐independent endocytosis (CIE) comprises a diverse repertoire of internalization mechanisms that operate in parallel with clathrin‐mediated endocytosis.
