‘School is their whole world’: Teachers' perspectives on loneliness among children and adolescents from England and mainland China

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract As front‐line observers and active participants in pupils' daily lives, teachers closely monitor pupils' social interactions, emotional states and behavioural changes. Their unique perspective enables them to detect problems in the social lives of their pupils that may not be immediately visible to peers, parents or mental health professionals.

Differential expression of brain cannabinoid receptors between repeatedly stressed males and females may play a role in age and gender-related difference in traumatic brain injury: Implications from animal studies

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2014
Inconsistent gender differences in the outcome of TBI have been reported. The mechanism is unknown. In a recent male animal study, repeated stress followed by TBI had synergistic effects on brain gene expression and caused greater behavioral deficits ...

How quantizable matter gravitates: a practitioner's guide

open access: yes, 2014
We present the practical step-by-step procedure for constructing canonical gravitational dynamics and kinematics directly from any previously specified quantizable classical matter dynamics, and then illustrate the application of this recipe by way of ...
