Low‐Dose Cytarabine Plus G‐CSF Induction in Pediatric M2 Acute Myeloid Leukemia: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This retrospective secondary analysis of the multicenter randomized CALS III‐AML18 trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of low‐dose chemotherapy (LDC) compared with standard‐dose chemotherapy (SDC) in children with M2 acute myeloid leukemia (AML‐M2). A total of 221 children were included, with 109 in the LDC arm and 112 in the SDC arm.

Datasheet1_Analytical study of RUNX1-RUNXT1, PML-RARA, CBFB-MYH11, BCR-ABL1p210, and KMT2-MLLT3 in Mexican children with acute myeloid leukemia: A multicenter study of the Mexican interinstitutional group for the identification of the causes of childhood leukemia (MIGICCL).docx

open access: yes, 2022
BackgroundThe distribution of RUNX1-RUNXT1, PML-RARA, CBFB-MYH11, BCR-ABL1p210, and KMT2A-MLLT3 in the pediatric population with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in many countries of Latin America is largely unknown.

Quantitative assessment of Wilms tumor 1 expression by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction in patients with acute myeloblastic leukemia

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2017
Background: The Wilms tumor 1 (WT1) gene is originally defined as a tumor suppressor gene and a transcription factor that overexpressed in leukemic cells.

Fusion Gene Detection Using Whole-Exome Sequencing Data in Cancer Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
Several fusion genes are directly involved in the initiation and progression of cancers. Numerous bioinformatics tools have been developed to detect fusion events, but they are mainly based on RNA-seq data.

Measurable Residual Disease Monitoring During Treatment for Pediatric Acute Myeloid Leukemia in First Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Survival after relapse in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains poor, highlighting the critical importance of identifying prognostic factors to guide optimal relapse management. Methods We investigated the prognostic impact of multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) measurable residual disease (MRD) in 188 patients with first ...

Preleukemia and Leukemia-Initiating Cell Activity in inv(16) Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2018
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a collection of hematologic malignancies with specific driver mutations that direct the pathology of the disease. The understanding of the origin and function of these mutations at early stages of transformation is ...

Machine learning provides individualized prediction of outcomes after first complete remission without allo‐HSCT consolidation in adult acute myeloid leukemia—A HARMONY study

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo‐HSCT) is a curative treatment option for a significant proportion of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and it is generally recommended when the relapse risk without allo‐HSCT outweighs the estimated non‐relapse mortality significantly.

DNA methylation profiles and their relationship with cytogenetic status in adult acute myeloid leukemia. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
Aberrant promoter DNA methylation has been shown to play a role in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) pathophysiology. However, further studies to discuss the prognostic value and the relationship of the epigenetic signatures with defined genomic ...

Passenger variants as pan‐clonal markers of pediatric AML: Implications for molecular MRD

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract A streamlined, sensitive, and universal molecular method for MRD detection in pediatric AML remains an unmet clinical need. Here, we propose a novel approach based on tracking somatic non‐coding passenger variants. Using whole‐genome sequencing (WGS) of diagnostic bone marrow DNA, we identify patient‐specific somatic passenger variants, which ...
