CCR4 and CCR5 Involvement in Monocyte-Derived Macrophage Migration in Neuroinflammation
Microglia, resident macrophages in the brain, play major roles in neuroinflammation after an acute many neurological diseases, including stroke. Our recent animal stroke model showed that interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 released by microglia are converted ...

During pancreatitis, IL‐1α is released from necrotic acinar cells. In response to IL‐1α, pancreatic fibroblasts release chemokines and cytokines that regulate the recruitment of immune cells to the damaged organ. Furthermore, IL‐1α primes fibroblasts, resulting in increased tissue fibrosis during chronic pancreatitis.

Identifying chemokines as therapeutic targets in renal disease: Lessons from antagonist studies and knockout mice [PDF]
Chemokines, in concert with cytokines and adhesion molecules, play multiple roles in local and systemic immune responses. In the kidney, the temporal and spatial expression of chemokines correlates with local renal damage and accumulation of chemokine ...

This study reveals that large tumors secrete more chemokine CXCL3, which recruits immunosuppressive neutrophils to the periphery, thereby impairing the activation and memory of systemic tumor‑reactive CD8+ T cells. CXCL3 antagonism restores systemic immune memory and enhances the antitumor efficacy of anti‑PD‑1 therapy, offering a potential strategy to

Frequency and predictors of HIV-1 co-receptor switch in treatment naive patients. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Determination of HIV-1 co-receptor use is a necessity before initiation of a CCR5 antagonist but the longevity of a CCR5-use prediction remains unknown. METHODS: Genotypic co-receptor tropism determination was performed in 225 newly diagnosed

This study generates the single‐cell atlas of pathogenic B‐cell subset Bc‐5 in ITP. It identifies RUNX3 as a key survival regulator and uncovers sphingolipid‐driven metabolic reprogramming, validating UGCG inhibition as a therapeutic candidate and building a valuable resource for ITP mechanistic and therapeutic exploration.

Pharmacotherapy of HIV-1 Infection: Focus on CCR5 Antagonist Maraviroc
Sustained inhibition of HIV-1, the goal of antiretroviral therapy, is often impeded by the emergence of viral drug resistance. For patients infected with HIV-1 resistant to conventional drugs from the viral reverse transcriptase and protease inhibitor ...

Structural insights from binding poses of CCR2 and CCR5 with clinically important antagonists: a combined in silico study. [PDF]
Chemokine receptors are G protein-coupled receptors that contain seven transmembrane domains. In particular, CCR2 and CCR5 and their ligands have been implicated in the pathophysiology of a number of diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and multiple ...
