Herpes simplex virus type 1 can either suppress or enhance human immunodeficiency virus type 1 replication in CD4‐positive T lymphocytes

Journal of Medical Virology, 2003
AbstractIt was proposed recently that CEM CD4‐positive T cells infected chronically by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV‐1) and human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV‐1) (CEMHSV/HIV) may be used as a model for studying HIV/HSV interactions. To ascertain whether HSV‐HIV coinfection of T lymphocytes has a role in promoting progression of lentiviral ...

Modulation of Eg5 activity contributes to mitotic spindle checkpoint activation and Tat‐mediated apoptosis in CD4‐positive T‐lymphocytes

The Journal of Pathology, 2014
AbstractTat, the transactivation factor of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV‐1), represents one of the major players mediating the loss of CD4‐positive T‐lymphocytes in HIV‐1‐infected patients, primarily due to the ability of Tat to trigger apoptosis. However, the molecular events underlying this process remain elusive. In this study, we provide

Removal of Autologous Activated CD4 Positive T Lymphocytes Also Result in Increased Colony-Forming Units (CFUs) in Patients with Myelodysplastic Syndromes.

Blood, 2009
Abstract Abstract 4862 Autologous activated CD4+ T lymphocytes (CD4+/CCR5+ double positive cells) in BMNC of 29 MDS patients were depleted or plused in in vitro cultures. That cultures with removed CD4+/CCR5+ cells exhibited significantly increased CFU generation.

Proteome database of unsensitized CD4 positive T lymphocytes in T cell receptor transgenic mice

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2003
AbstractWe established a two‐dimensional electrophoresis (2‐DE) mapping database of splenic CD4 T cells prepared from I‐Ad‐restricted ovalbumin (OVA)323‐339 specific T cell receptor (TCR) transgenic mice (OVA23‐3). First we examined the purification of CD4 T cells and found that the high purity of cells produced more accurate protein maps.

HELPER T LYMPHOCYTE UNRESPONSIVENESS TO CARDIAC ALLOGRAFTS FOLLOWING TRANSIENT DEPLETION OF CD4-POSITIVE CELLS

Transplantation, 1994
Initial treatment of heterotopic cardiac transplant recipients with anti-CD4 mAb promotes long-term (> 60 days) allograft survival. We have used modified limiting dilution analysis to quantitate donor alloantigen-reactive helper T lymphocytes (HTL) and CTL in mice bearing long-term cardiac allografts.
