Expression of CD47 antigen in Reed–Sternberg cells as a new potential biomarker for classical Hodgkin lymphoma

Clinical and Translational Oncology, 2019
CD47 over expression has been reported in several tumor subtypes. CD47 interacts with SIRPalpha on macrophages inhibiting phagocytic signal, providing a survival advantage to tumor. CD47, therefore, represents a valuable target for immunotherapy and is currently under clinical investigation.

Abstract 2944: Trastuzumab-deruxtecan (T-Dxd) induces superior macrophage/DC activation, antigen-presentation and anti-tumor adaptive immune responses, which can be augmented by CD47/SIRPA blockade

Cancer Research, 2023
Abstract Background: T-DXd is a new antibody-drug conjugate targeting HER2 that has demonstrated superior clinical efficacy over previous HER2-targeting agent Trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) in patients with advanced-stage HER2+ breast cancer (BC).

Influence of polymer architecture on antigens camouflage, CD47 protection and complement mediated lysis of surface grafted red blood cells

Biomaterials, 2012
Hyperbranched polyglycerol (HPG) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymers with similar hydrodynamic sizes in solution were grafted to red blood cells (RBCs) to investigate the impact of polymer architecture on the cell structure and function. The hydrodynamic sizes of polymers were calculated from the diffusion coefficients measured by pulsed field ...

Anti‐ CD47 drug interference in pre‐transfusion testing can be overcome by antigen masking

Abstract Background Overexpression of CD47, a “don't eat me” signal for macrophages, in various malignancies has prompted the development of anti‐CD47 therapies. Although the first‐in‐class anti‐CD47 antibody magrolimab was abandoned due to its ineffectiveness in improving survival in acute ...
