Lanreotide, a Somatostatin Analogue, in Advanced Merkel Cell Carcinoma: A Prospective Single‐Arm Phase II Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) is a rare, aggressive neuroendocrine and epithelial skin cancer. Somatostatin analogues, such as lanreotide, have shown efficacy in managing other neuroendocrine tumors. Retrospective studies suggest that lanreotide may induce partial response or disease stabilization in patients with advanced MCC.

Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocyte Therapy Combined With PD‐1/LAG‐3 Inhibition in Patients With Recurrent Platinum‐Resistant Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 7, Page 1735-1749, 1 October 2026.
The detection of tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is a positive prognostic factor in ovarian cancer. Moreover, TILs are significantly boosted by immunotherapy, though ovarian cancer patients have seen limited benefit from immune therapies. This study investigated the safety and feasibility of TIL therapy combined with PD‐1 and LAG‐3 inhibitors in ...

Exploring the Impact of Urolithins A and B on Muscle Health: A Transcriptomic Analysis in Human Myotubes

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Urolithin A (UA) and urolithin B (UB) are gut microbiota‐derived metabolites of ellagitannins reported to influence mitochondrial function, inflammation and muscle metabolism. Their comparative transcriptomic effects in human skeletal muscle cells remain undefined.

Natural Killer Cell‐Derived Extracellular Vesicle Preparations Demonstrate Potent Antitumor Activity Against Human Glioblastoma In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 10, October 2026.
Schematic overview of NK‐EV isolation strategies from expanded primary human NK cells. Primary human NK cells were isolated from PBMCs and expanded using K562 feeder cells. EV‐containing preparations were then isolated from expanded NK‐cell cultures using two approaches. First, total exosome isolation reagent was used as a precipitation‐based method to

Acute Myeloid Leukaemia Driven by Rare HNRNPH1::ERG Fusion Gene in an Adult, With Distinct Transcripts Detected by RNASeq at Diagnosis and Relapse: A Case Report

open access: yeseJHaem, Volume 7, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) cases with rare fusion genes, such as ERG‐related fusions, constitute less than 1% of AML. They often present with a normal karyotype by conventional cytogenetics but are increasingly detected by RNA sequencing (RNAseq), although their characteristics and the utility of fusion genes as an MRD marker are poorly ...
