Prognostic significance of CD56 antigen in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: A real-world retrospective study [PDF]
The prognostic value of plasma cell CD56 expression of patients with multiple myeloma (MM) has been reported in many studies, but the results are controversial. This study aimed to examine the prognostic significance of CD56 in MM patients. Eighty seven patients with newly diagnosed MM were enrolled in this study, and their clinical ...

Prognostic Significance of CD56 Antigen Expression in Patients with De Novo Non‐M3 Acute Myeloid Leukemia [PDF]
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous group of disorders with distinct characteristics and prognoses. Although cytogenetic changes and gene mutations are associated with AML prognosis, there is a need to identify further factors. CD56 is considered a prognostic factor for AML, which is abnormally expressed in leukemia cells.

CD56 antigenic expression in acute myeloid leukemia identifies patients with poor clinical prognosis [PDF]
CD56 antigen, a 200-220 kDa cell surface glycoprotein, identified as an isoform of the neural adhesion molecules (NCAM), has been found frequently expressed in several lympho-hematopoietic neoplasms including acute myeloid leukemias (AML). In fact, in these latter diseases it has been reported that the presence of CD56 antigen on the blasts of AML ...

The expression of CD56 antigen is associated with poor prognosis in patients with acute myeloid leukemia [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The expression of CD56 is considered a bad prognostic factor for overall survival, lower rates or short complete remission and extramedullary invasion but the results are controversial.

The expression of the CD56 antigen is associated with poor prognosis in patients with acute myeloid leukemia [PDF]
The diversity of clinical, hematological and genetic features among patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has been recognized for many decades. However, during recent years, considerable progress has been made in defining new diagnostic and prognostic markers.

Interleukin-15-induced CD56(+) myeloid dendritic cells combine potent tumor antigen presentation with direct tumoricidal potential. [PDF]
Dendritic cells (DCs) are the quintessential antigen-presenting cells of the human immune system and play a prime role in coordinating innate and adaptive immune responses, explaining the strong and still growing interest in their application for cancer ...

Prognostic significance of CD56 antigen expression in acute myeloid leukemia
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES. CD56 antigen expression has been reported in several hematologic malignancies. In acute myeloid leukemia (AML)M2 with t(8;21) and acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) it has been found to be consistently associated with an ...

Involvement of CD56 (NKH-1/Leu-19 antigen) as an adhesion molecule in natural killer-target cell interaction. [PDF]
The CD56 differentiation antigen, recognized by anti-Leu-19 and NKH-1 mAbs, is a 200-220-kD glycoprotein that is expressed predominantly on human NK cells and a minor subset of T lymphocytes mediating MHC-unrestricted cytotoxicity. The recent finding that CD56 is an isoform of the neural cell adhesion molecule (N-CAM) prompted us to examine the ...

Plasma cells in multiple myeloma express a natural killer cell- associated antigen: CD56 (NKH-1; Leu-19) [PDF]
Bone marrow samples from 55 patients with multiple myeloma (MM) and 23 patients with monoclonal gammopathy of undertermined significance (MGUS) were evaluated with a broad panel of monoclonal antibodies. Plasma cells from 78% (43/55) of patients with MM strongly expressed the natural killer cell antigen CD56 (NKH-1, Leu-19).
