Automated CD61 immunoplatelet analysis of thrombocytopenic samples [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, 2001
Revision of the current decision point for prophylactic platelet transfusion in thrombocytopenic patients requires the availability of a method that is able to provide accurate platelet counts to as low as 1 × 109/l. This study is the first to evaluate the immunoplatelet method (CD61‐Imm) of the haematological analyser Cell‐Dyn 4000 in direct ...

Intracellular expression of CD61 precedes surface expression

Annals of Hematology, 1999
We report a case of acute myeloid leukemia which we have classified as acute megakaryoblastic leukemia because of intracytoplasmic expression of CD61. Light microscopy demonstrated agranular blasts which, by cytochemical staining, were negative for myeloperoxidase.

Role of CD61+ cells in thrombocytopenia of dengue patients [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hematology, 2012
Although hematological disorders with salient features of thrombocytopenia have been well documented in dengue patients, the role of CD61-expressing platelets and the megakaryocytic cell lineage in the pathogenesis of dengue virus (DENV) infection remains largely unexplored.

Platelet CD61 expression in vascular calcineurin inhibitor toxicity of renal allografts

Human Pathology, 2008
Calcineurin inhibitor (CI) toxicity in renal allografts is frequently associated with arteriolar injury. Platelet activation occurs in response to vascular injury associated with CI therapy. Platelets are detectable in tissue sections by immunohistochemistry for CD61.

An Evaluation of CD61 Immunohistochemistry in Identification of Vascular Invasion in Follicular Thyroid Neoplasms [PDF]

open access: yesHead and Neck Pathology, 2019
The identification of vascular invasion in follicular thyroid neoplasms is essential for categorizing lesions as benign (follicular adenomas) or malignant (follicular thyroid carcinomas). Among the histologic criteria diagnostic of true vascular invasion is tumor-cell associated thrombosis, including fibrin deposition and platelet clumping.

Expression levels of ABCG2 and CD61 genes in breast cancer tissues of Iranian population

Breast Disease, 2021
Breast cancer as the most common female cancer is a malignancy with heterogeneous course. Dysregulation of several genes has been associated with development of this malignancy. Among these genes are the stem cell markers CD61 and breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP or ATP-binding cassette super-family G member 2 (ABCG2)).

Metallothionein in human thrombocyte precursors, CD61+ megakaryocytes

Cell Biology and Toxicology, 2007
The in vitro biosynthesis of metallothionein (MT) was investigated in thrombocyte precursors (megakaryocytes) isolated from human cord blood. Biosynthesis and induction of MT in magnetic cell sorting-separated CD61(+) megakaryocytes was confirmed by immunohistochemical staining using monoclonal mouse anti-MT. The presence of MT was detected both in the

Chicken thrombocytes express the CD51/CD61 integrin

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2007
A panel of commercially available anti-human mab was screened for cross-reactivity on chicken cells. All mab were screened at least twice on PBL collected from two different chicken lines. Out of the 377 mab tested, only two consistently reacted with subpopulations of PBL. The mab HUH73A reactive with CD11a was detected on all lymphocytes. In contrast,
