Penetration of Cefazolin into Pleural Fluid [PDF]
Single doses of cefazolin, 500 mg intramuscularly and 1 g intravenously, were administered to 16 patients having lung pathology who were scheduled for thoracic fluid aspiration. Pleural fluid and serum samples were taken at intervals of 30 to 240 min for determination of cefazolin levels.

Radiosensitivity study of cefazolin sodium [PDF]
The extent of physico-chemical changes induced by irradiation of cefazolin sodium was investigated. The methods used were potency determination, impurity profile, colour measurements and pH measurements. The potency of irradiated samples at 25 kGy was 4+/-2% lower than that of the non irradiated ones.

Bactericidal Activity and Pharmacology of Cefazolin [PDF]
The in vitro bactericidal activity of cefazolin was found to be similar to that of cephaloridine and cephalothin but slightly greater than that of cephalexin against a majority of 233 strains of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.

In Vitro Studies with Cefazolin [PDF]
Susceptibilities of 259 isolates of pathogenic bacteria to cefazolin were measured by broth and agar dilution procedures. Beta-hemolytic streptococci were inhibited by 0.25 μg/ml, whereas Staphylococcus aureus and alphahemolytic streptococci were inhibited by 2.0 μg/ml.

Tumescent Injections in Subcutaneous Pig Tissue Disperse Fluids Volumetrically and Maintain Elevated Local Concentrations of Additives for Several Hours, Suggesting a Treatment for Drug Resistant Wounds. [PDF]
PurposeBolus injection of fluid into subcutaneous tissue results in accumulation of fluid at the injection site. The fluid does not form a pool. Rather, the injection pressure forces the interstitial matrix to expand to accommodate the excess fluid in ...
