Phylogenetic and biochemical analyses of the heme transporter CydDC reveal its functional conservation throughout bacterial evolution and demonstrate its unique asymmetric allosteric mechanism. Furthermore, impairment of CydDC function directly affects bacterial antibiotic resistance and likely compromises antibiotic efficacy through drug efflux.

In vivo emergence of cefiderocol and ceftazidime/avibactam cross-resistance in KPC-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae following ceftazidime/avibactam -based therapies [PDF]
We described the emergence of ceftazidime/avibactam and cefiderocol cross-resistance in patients with KPC-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae infections. All strains with ceftazidime/avibactam and cefiderocol cross-resistance showed point mutations on KPC Ω ...

This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...

Background By age three, 5%–75% of children have a documented antibiotic allergy (AL). Despite this prevalence, recognition remains low because of limited clinician knowledge and time. Our study evaluates a novel approach to identifying AL using electronic medical record (EMR) prescription patterns.
