FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Development of a Transplantable GFP+ B-Cell Lymphoma Tumor Cell Line From MHC-Defined Miniature Swine: Potential for a Large Animal Tumor Model

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2019
The lack of a reliable and reproducible large animal tumor model for the study of hemolymphatic malignancies limits the ability to explore the underlying pathophysiology and testing of novel therapies. The goal of this study was to develop an aggressive,

Identification and validation of expressed HLA-binding breast cancer neoepitopes for potential use in individualized cancer therapy

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, 2021
Background Therapeutic regimens designed to augment the immunological response of a patient with breast cancer (BC) to tumor tissue are critically informed by tumor mutational burden and the antigenicity of expressed neoepitopes.

Genetic load makes cancer cells more sensitive to common drugs: evidence from Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports (7:1938). Springer Nature. May 16 2017, 2017
Genetic alterations initiate tumors and enable the evolution of drug resistance. The pro-cancer view of mutations is however incomplete, and several studies show that mutational load can reduce tumor fitness. Given its negative effect, genetic load should make tumors more sensitive to anticancer drugs.

Efficacy of tumor-targeting Salmonella typhimurium A1-R in combination with anti-angiogenesis therapy on a pancreatic cancer patient-derived orthotopic xenograft (PDOX) and cell line mouse models. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The aim of the present study was to examine the efficacy of tumor-targeting Salmonella typhimurium A1-R treatment following anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy on VEGF-positive human pancreatic cancer.

First line Immunotherapy for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2020
Immunotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is incorporated increasingly in first line treatments protocols. Multiple phase 3 studies have tested different medications targeting programmed death receptor 1 (PD-1), programmed death-ligand 1 (PD ...

The immunological interface: dendritic cells as key regulators in metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affects nearly one‐third of the global population and poses a significant risk of progression to cirrhosis or liver cancer. Here, we discuss the roles of hepatic dendritic cell subtypes in MASLD, highlighting their distinct contributions to disease initiation and progression, and their ...

Establishment and characterization of a cell line HCS1220 from human liver metastasis of colon cancer

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2018
Background To establish one primary cell line of human liver metastasis of colon cancer. Methods HCS1220 cell line was derived from one liver metastasis of colon cancer patient’s resected tumor sample. The characterization of the cell line was defined by

Interface Dynamics in a Two-phase Tumor Growth Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We study a tumor growth model in two space dimensions, where proliferation of the tumor cells leads to expansion of the tumor domain and migration of surrounding normal tissues into the exterior vacuum. The model features two moving interfaces separating the tumor, the normal tissue, and the exterior vacuum.
