P2X7 Receptor Mediated Increase In Cell Membrane Permeability

open access: yesAnkara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Mecmuası, 2018
Purinergic receptors consist of two main families; P2X and P2Y. P2Y receptors are G protein coupled receptors (GPCR), whereas P2X receptors are non-selective cation channels. P2X7 receptors which is a member of P2X receptors, have been found myriad types

Permeability of the liver cell membrane to quinolinate [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1977
Quinolinate was taken up by both rat and guinea-pig liver cells. Equilibrium was reached after approx. 20 min with rat cells, but guinea-pig cells had not achieved a steady state after 60 min. There was no evidence to suggest that quinolinate is rapidly metabolized by either species.

Capsid protein VP4 of human rhinovirus induces membrane permeability by the formation of a size-selective multimeric pore.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2014
Non-enveloped viruses must deliver their viral genome across a cell membrane without the advantage of membrane fusion. The mechanisms used to achieve this remain poorly understood. Human rhinovirus, a frequent cause of the common cold, is a non-enveloped

Topical Delivery of Cell-Penetrating Peptide-Modified Human Growth Hormone for Enhanced Wound Healing

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2023
Protein drugs have been emerging as a class of promising therapeutics. However, their topical application has been limited by their high molecular weight and poor permeability to the cell membrane. In this study, we aimed to enhance human growth hormone (

Lavender essential oil induces oxidative stress which modifies the bacterial membrane permeability of carbapenemase producing Klebsiella pneumoniae

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Misuse of antibiotics in the clinical and agricultural sectors has caused the emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Klebsiella pneumoniae which contributes a threat to human health.

Understanding and Improving the Membrane Permeability of VH032-Based PROTACs

open access: yesACS Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2020
Proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) are catalytic heterobifunctional molecules that can selectively degrade a protein of interest by recruiting a ubiquitin E3 ligase to the target, leading to its ubiquitylation and degradation by the proteasome ...

Femtosecond optoinjection of intact tobacco BY-2 cells using a reconfigurable photoporation platform. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
A tightly-focused ultrashort pulsed laser beam incident upon a cell membrane has previously been shown to transiently increase cell membrane permeability while maintaining the viability of the cell, a technique known as photoporation.

Gas Permeability Test Protocol for Ion-Exchange Membranes

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
The membrane-based electrolysis of water is a growing topic of interest due to the advantages of employing membranes in hydrogen production efficiency and system safety over the traditional alkaline water electrolysis. Ion-exchange membranes with low gas

Detergent Induction of HEK 293A Cell Membrane Permeability Measured under Quiescent and Superfusion Conditions Using Whole Cell Patch Clamp

open access: yesJournal of Physical Chemistry B, 2014
Detergents have several biological applications but present cytotoxicity concerns, since they can solubilize cell membranes. Using the IonFlux 16, an ensemble whole cell planar patch clamp, we observed that anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), cationic ...
