Stability of p53 protein in rat cells transformed by various viral transforming genes
Virology, 1992To clarify the correlation between metabolic stabilization of p53 protein and cellular transformation, we transformed the normal rat cell line F2408 with various viral transforming genes and examined the expression and stability of p53 protein in these transformed cells by pulse-chase immunoprecipitation experiments.

Further study of β‐tgfs released by virally transformed and non‐transformed cells
International Journal of Cancer, 1985AbstractChicken embryo fibroblasts sensitized by ts RSV respond to TGFs present in the media of non‐transformed FR3T3 and NRK‐4 rat cells and of the same cells transformed by KiMSV or RSV. They also respond to TGFs present in the media of BHK hamster cells transformed by MoMSV, PyV or RSV.

The effect of viral transformation on prostaglandin production depends on cell type
Virology, 1986The role of prostaglandins in cellular differentiation and transformation has been widely studied. We have found previously that prostaglandin E2 production was greatly diminished in dog kidney cells (MDCK) after transformation by Harvey murine sarcoma virus.

Gangliosides of chemically and virally transformed rat embryo cells
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1975The gangliosides of control rat embryo cells, 3-methylcholanthrene, Rauscher leukemia virus, and combined 3-methylcholanthrene-Rauscher leukemia virus transformants were examined using [14 C]glucosamine as a tracer. All four cell lines exhibited a complex pattern of gangliosides.

State of viral DNA in BK virus-transformed rabbit cells
Virology, 1980Abstract Semipermissive rabbit liver, brain, and kidney cells were transformed by BK virus (BKV). All cells of the three resulting cell lines produced BKV T antigen. Viral DNA was detected by DNA-DNA reassociation kinetics and by blot-transfer hybridization.

Biochemical characteristics of normal and virally transformed mouse cell lines
Journal of Cellular Physiology, 1972AbstractNormal and virally transformed mouse cells respond differently in vitro to high concentrations of potassium. A higher potassium concentration is required to inhibit multiplication of SV40 transformed 3T3 cells to the same extent as that of normal 3T3 cells.

Epidermal Growth Factors Enhances Viral Transformation of Granulosa Cells
Science, 1981Kirsten sarcoma virus produced a low incidence of transient morphological transformation in primary cultures of rat ovarian granulosa cells. In the presence of epidermal growth factor, the incidence of transient transformation increased severalfold and two continuous cell lines were established.

Transformation of Human Cells by Viral and Cellular Oncogenes
1986Human adenoviruses have been widely used in studies on the expression of genes in eukaryotic cells and in studies of experimentally produced cancer (for reviews see Flint, 1982; Branton et al., 1985; Gallimore et al., 1985a). The oncogenic potential of these viruses was identified by the ability of certain serotypes to induce tumours following ...

Organization and Expression of Viral Genes in Adenovirus-Transformed Cells
1982Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the organization and expression of viral genes in adenovirus-transformed cells. Not all human adenoviruses are tumorigenic when inoculated into newborn rodents. Although adenoviruses display differences in their ability to induce tumors in animals, they transform the cells in culture.
