Sialidase Activity in Transformed Cells

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1973
Abstract Sialidase activity, ganglioside patterns, and total cellular sialic acid content were determined for normal and transformed hamster cells in tissue culture. Sialidase activity toward added extracellular disialo- and trisialoganglioside substrate was found in all transformed cell lines studied.

Mechanisms of cell transformation induced by polyomavirus

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 1999
Polyomavirus is a DNA tumor virus that induces a variety of tumors in mice. Its genome encodes three proteins, namely large T (LT), middle T (MT), and small T (ST) antigens, that have been implicated in cell transformation and tumorigenesis.
