Bioactive Cembrane Diterpenoids of Anisomeles indica
Journal of Natural Products, 2008Five new cembrane-type diterpenoids with a trans-fused alpha-methylene-gamma-lactone (1-5), a new flavonoid glucoside (6), and 17 known compounds were isolated from a methanol extract of Anisomeles indica. The structures of 1-6 were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis, and the absolute configuration of compound 1 was determined using the modified ...

Cembrane Diterpenes from the Gorgonian Leptogorgia laxa
Journal of Natural Products, 2008The new cembrane diterpenes leptodienone A (2) and leptodienone B (3) and the known compounds lopholide, lophodiol B, lophodione, and lophotoxin (1) have been isolated from the gorgonian Leptogorgia laxa collected in the Gulf of California. The structures of the new metabolites have been established by spectroscopic techniques.

Oxidative transformations of cembrane diterpenoids III. Epoxycembrenes
Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 19771. It has been established that the epoxidation of cembrene with perbenzoic and peracetic acids takes place stereospecifically at each of the trisubstituted double bonds with the formation of 4S,5R-, 7S,8S-, and 11S,12S-monoepoxycembrenes, the structures and absolute configurations of which have been established by spectral methods. 2.

1979
The first studies which established the structures of members of the new group of diterpenes known as cembranes appeared in 1962 when Dauben, Thiessen, and Resnick (1), and Kobayashi and Akiyoshi (2) simultaneously published the structure of the hydrocarbon cembrene (1) from pine oleoresins, and Rowland and Roberts (3) published the structure of two ...

Cytotoxic Cembrane Diterpenoids
2014Cembrane-type diterpenoids are a large and structurally varied group of natural products isolated from both terrestrial and marine organisms. From a biomedical perspective, cytotoxicity is the most remarkable property of this class of diterpenoids, respresented by sarcophytol A.

Some new cembrane derivatives of marine origin
Tetrahedron, 1974Abstract The isolation and structural determination of several cembrane derivatives (2–7) isolated from the soft-bodied coral sarcophytum glaucum- is reported. The various compounds can be divided into cembranolids, cembranes containing the dihydrofurane moiety, and correlated alcohols. The stereochemistry at C-1, as well as that of the epoxide ring,

Cembrane Diterpenes Chemistry and Biological Properties
Current Organic Chemistry, 2012Cembrane-type diterpenoids are a large and structurally varied group of natural products isolated from both terrestrial and marine organisms. The present paper reviews all the metabolites of cembrane diterpenes, reported up to 2010. The natural products discussed in this review can be divided into several different structural families featuring a ...
