Tetrahydrofuran Cembranoids from the Cultured Soft Coral Lobophytum crassum [PDF]

open access: goldMarine Drugs, 2011
Three new cembranoids, culobophylins A–C (1–3), along with two known compounds (4 and 5) were isolated from the cultured soft coral Lobophytum crassum. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of their spectroscopic data and comparison of the NMR data with those of known analogues.

Klyflaccilins B‐T, Polyoxgenated Eunicellins from the Soft Coral Klyxum flaccidum

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 2021, Issue 9, Page 1402-1406, March 5, 2021., 2021
Nineteen new eunicellin diterpenoids named klyflaccilins B‐T were isolated from the gorgonian Klyxum flaccidum. The structures were elucidated by NMR, showing that they represent different eunicellin subclasses. For five compounds X‐ray crystal structures were obtained that allowed to determine their absolute configurations.

Cembranoids Content of Soft Coral Sarcophyton from Acidified Environment at Volcano Island, Indonesia

open access: yesSqualen, 2017
Cembranoid content in soft coral is known as a chemotype that relate with genotype and environment. This research aimed to characterize the cembranoid Sarcophyton soft coral from the reef that acidified by CO2 volcanic vents (pHT 7.8) at Volcano Islands ...

New Lobane and Cembrane Diterpenes from Two Comorian Soft Corals

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2010
Preliminary biological investigation of a collection of Comorian soft corals resulted in the selection of two specimens, one of Sarcophyton and the other of Lobophytum, on the basis of their toxicity on larvae of the brine shrimp (Artemia salina) and ...

Oxygenated Cembranoids from the Soft Coral Sinularia flexibilis [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2013
Chemical examination of the Taiwanese soft coral Sinularia flexibilis led to the isolation of five cembrane-based diterpenoids 1–5, including two new metabolites, 11-acetylsinuflexolide (1) and 11-acetyldihydrosinuflexolide (2). The structures of the new metabolites were determined based on extensive spectroscopic analysis, particularly mass ...

New Hydroquinone Monoterpenoid and Cembranoid-Related Metabolites from the Soft Coral Sarcophyton tenuispiculatum

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2020
Chemical investigation of the marine soft coral Sarcophyton tenuispiculatum resulted in the isolation of a 1,4-dihydrobenzoquinone, sarcotenuhydroquinone (1), three new cembranoids, sarcotenusenes A‒C (2‒4), and ten previously reported metabolites 5–14 ...

Total Synthesis of the Marine Diterpenoids Caucanolide E and F by Alkyne gem‐Hydrogenation: Rigorous Reassignment of Two Almost Indistinguishable Diastereomers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 18, April 25, 2025.
The application of gem‐hydrogenation, which exploits the electrophilic character of the ruthenium carbene intermediates transiently formed, to natural product total synthesis allowed the stereostructure of a pair of diastereomeric seco‐cembranoids that are almost indistinguishable by NMR to be rigorously assigned.

Logic Structure Determination (LSD) as a Computer Assisted Structure Elucidation (CASE) for Molecular Structure Determination of Cytotoxic Cembranoids from Soft Coral

open access: yesSqualen, 2016
Indonesian tropical soft corals are valuable resources that produce pharmacological cytotoxic cembranoids. However,  the manual structure determination in these compounds requires adequate knowledge of organic chemistry.

New Cembranoids from Burley Tobacco

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung C, 1981
Abstract The liquid CO2-extract of aged burley tobacco was investigated for its content of diterpenoids, which are considered as important precursors of flavour constituents. Among several cembranoids, already known from various tobacco types, 4,8-dimethyl-8-hydroxy-11-(1-methyl-ethyl)-14-oxo-pentadeca-5,9-diene-4-olide, a new natural ...
