Polycyclic diterpenoids biogenetically related to the cembranoids

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 1987
This review describes cyclocembrane compounds isolated from plants, marine organisms, and insects. A systematization of cyclized diterpenoids according to the types of carbon skeletons is given.

A study on the sulfenylchlorination of cembrene and the related cembranoids

Chinese Journal of Chemistry, 1990
Abstractp‐Tolylsulfenyl chloride adds regioselectively at the C(11)  C(12) bond of cembrene 1 to give 11‐(R)‐p‐tolylthio‐1‐(S)‐cembra‐2E, 4Z, 7E, 12(20)‐tetraene 2 following a rapid HCl elimination. Two new cembranoids, 1‐(S)‐cembra‐2E, 4Z, 7E, 12(20)‐tetraene 3 and 1‐(S)‐cembra‐2E, 4Z, 7E, 11Z‐tetraen‐20‐ol 4 are prepared from 2.

[A new cembranoid diterpene from Olibanum].

Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2022
Five compounds were isolated from the alcohol extract of Olibanum by MCI, silica gel, ODS, and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatographies and preparative high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). On the basis of spectral data and literature data, the compounds were identified as:(1S,3R,4S,7R,11S,12R)-1:12,4:7-diepoxisonane-8(19)-ene-3,11-diol(1 ...

Two New Cembranoids from Croton oblongifolius

Journal of Natural Products, 1998
Two new cembranoids, crotocembraneic acid (1) and neocrotocembraneic acid (2), were isolated from the stem bark of Croton oblongifolius. Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.

Cembranoid diterpenes from soft coral Sinularia sp.

China Journal of Chinese Matera Medica, 2010
A soft coral Sinularia sp., collected from the South China Sea, was selected to investigate the bioactive and chemical constituents. The EtOAc fraction were isolated by repeatedly silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography to obtain lobophytolide A (1), 3-dehydroxylpresinularolide B (2), sarcophine (3), 3 beta-acetoxyisolobophytolide (4 ...

Cembranoids, Pseudopteranoids, and Cubitanoids of Natural Occurrence

1992
The structures of (+)-cembrene (1), a macrocyclic diterpene hydrocarbon isolated from pine oleoresins (1, 2), and of the two epimeric cembratrienediols 35 and 36, which were obtained from tobacco (3), were reported in 1962. Since these pioneering studies, the structures of some 300 naturally occurring cembranoids have been resolved.

Mode of cembranoid action on embryonic muscle acetylcholine receptor

Journal of Neuroscience Research, 2007
AbstractThe mechanism of eupalmerin acetate (EUAC) actions on the embryonic muscle nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) in BC3H‐1 cells was studied by using whole‐cell and single‐channel patch‐clamp current measurements. With whole‐cell currents, EUAC did not act as an agonist on this receptor. Coapplication of 30 μM EUAC with 50 μM, 100 μM, or 500

Strategies for the Total Synthesis of C2−C11 Cyclized Cembranoids

Chemical Reviews, 2008
The C2-C11 cyclized cembranoids, which include the eunicellins (also known as the cladiellins), briarellins, asbestinins, and sarcodictyins, are secondary metabolites isolated from gorgonian octocorals and soft corals. An unusual oxatricyclic ring system containing a hydroisobenzofuran and an oxonene unit with stereogenic centers residing at C1-3, 9 ...
