Research Note: Modified Orthogonal Central-Composite Designs
Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 1976Simplified formulae for determining the coded value of α are presentedfor rotatable, blocked orthogonal second–order designs in which all data points are replicated an equal number of times. These three central–composite design parameters are compared, and the advantages and limitations of orthogonal designs are presented.

Central composite experimental designs: Applied to chemical systems
Journal of Chemical Education, 1992For chemical systems that have more than one independent variable or factor (multifactor systems), the single-factor-at-a-time method often leads to an incomplete understanding of the system, resulting in confusion and a lack of predictive ability; some of this confusion can be avoided with the application of properly designed experiments and adequate ...

Predictive Validity of Central-Composite Design Regression Equations
Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 1973The predictive validity of the Mills and Williges (1973) empirically derived prediction equations of single operator performance in a simulated surveillance system was assessed by measuring 16 additional data points on the same four subjects participating in the original study.

Design, Development and Optimization Aceclofenac Effervescence tablets by Central Composite Design
Research Journal of Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms and Technology, 2015The oral solid dosage forms are the most popular way of taking medication despite having some disadvantages like slow absorption and hence prolong onset of action. These problems can be overcome by some drug delivery system like mouth dissolving tablets, dispersible tablets, effervescent tablets, etc.

The Application of Central Composite Design in Flash Spinning
Advanced Materials Research, 2011In this paper, ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) superfine fiber was fabricated by flash-spinning method using UHMWPE as the fiber-forming polymer, 1, 2-dichloroethane as the main solvent. Use central composite design principle, the four factors which mainly influenced the properties of the fiber: spinning temperature, spinning pressure,

Construction of central composite designs for balanced orthogonal blocks
Journal of Applied Statistics, 2002Box & Hunter (1957) recommended a set of orthogonally blocked central composite designs (CCD) when the region of interest is spherical. In order to achieve rotatability along with orthogonal blocking, the block size for those designs becomes unequal and it may not be attractive or practical to use such unequally blocked designs in many practical ...

Central composite design for optimizing istamycin production by Streptomyces tenjimariensis
World Journal of Microbiology and BiotechnologyIstamycins (ISMs) are 2-deoxyfortamine-containing aminoglycoside antibiotics (AGAs) produced by Streptomyces tenjimariensis ATCC 31603 with broad-spectrum bactericidal activities against most of the clinically relevant pathogens. Therefore, this study aimed to statistically optimize the environmental conditions affecting ISMs production using the ...
