Power and politics in the adoption of information systems by organisations: the case of a research centre in Latin America [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
This thesis applies contributions from the social sciences to the study of power to examine how and why organisations adopt information systems. Its main concern is the set of events, actions and factors that induce an information system to become ...

A precise characterisation of the top quark electro-weak vertices at the ILC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Top quark production in the process $e^+e^- \to t\bar{t}$ at a future linear electron positron collider with polarised beams is a powerful tool to determine indirectly the scale of new physics.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Improved Actions for Nuclear Effective Field Theories [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Effective field theories have been successful in describing nuclei up to the alpha particle but face significant challenges for larger nuclei due to leading-order instabilities.

Homologous expression and purification of human HAX‐1 for structural studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol provides detailed instructions for cloning, expressing, and purifying large quantities of the intrinsically disordered human HAX‐1 protein, N‐terminally fused to a cleavable superfolder GFP, from mammalian cells. HAX‐1 is predicted to undergo posttranslational modifications and to interact with membranes, various cellular ...

Gauged permutation invariant matrix quantum mechanics: path integrals

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We give a path integral construction of the quantum mechanical partition function for gauged finite groups. Our construction gives the quantization of a system of d, N × N matrices invariant under the adjoint action of the symmetric group S N .

How realistic are solar model atmospheres? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Recently, new solar model atmospheres have been developed to replace classical 1D LTE hydrostatic models and used to for example derive the solar chemical composition. We aim to test various models against key observational constraints.

Navigating new norms: a systematic review of factors for the development of effective digital tools in higher education

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
What factors make for an effective digital learning tool in Higher Education? This systematic review identifies elements of a digital tool that published examples reveal to be features of an engaging and impactful digital tool. A systematic literature search yielded 25 research papers for analysis.

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

λϕ 4 theory — Part I. The symmetric phase beyond NNNNNNNNLO

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Perturbation theory of a large class of scalar field theories in d < 4 can be shown to be Borel resummable using arguments based on Lefschetz thimbles. As an example we study in detail the λϕ 4 theory in two dimensions in the Z 2 symmetric phase.
