Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Effects of centrifugation on gonadal and adrenocortical steroids in rats [PDF]

open access: yes
Many endocrine systems are sensitive to external changes in the environment. Both the pituitary adrenal and pituitary gonadal systems are affected by stress including centrifugation stress.

Interplay between Spinodal Decomposition and Glass Formation in Proteins Exhibiting Short-Range Attractions

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate the competition between spinodal decomposition and dynamical arrest using aqueous solutions of the globular protein lysozyme as a model system for colloids with short-range attractions.

Cryopreservation of ovine in vitro produced embryos using centrifugation and cytocalasin D [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cryosurvival of ovine in vitro produced embryos are still low, thus preventing its routine transfer. Attempts have been made to override this problem by decreasing embryos lipid content or protecting their structure with cytoskeletal stabilizers.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Effects of Different Centrifugation Parameters on Equilibrium Solubility Measurements

open access: yesMethods and Protocols
The bioavailability of a drug is closely linked to its solubility, making its early determination essential in drug development. The saturation shake-flask (SSF) method is the gold standard protocol for this, which includes a phase separation step—either

Relevant Aspects of Centrifugation Step in the Preparation of Platelet-Rich Plasma

open access: yesISRN Hematology, 2014
Introduction. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is rich in growth factors, playing important role in tissue healing. The wide variation of reported protocols for preparation of PRP leads to variable compositions, which induce different biological responses and ...

Effect of Sustained Human Centrifugation on Autonomic Cardiovascular and Vestibular Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Repeated exposure to +Gz enhances human baroreflex responsiveness and improves tolerance to cardiovascular stress. However, both sustained exposure to +Gx and changes in otolith function resulting from the gravitational changes of space flight and ...

抗原および抗ヒトIgEに対する好塩基球の反応性. 1.好塩基球数の変化 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Blood basophils in subjects with bronchial asthma migrate from blood stream into local allergic reaction sites after inhalation of antigen into airways. The phenomena can be observed by changes in number of basophils in the peripheral blood.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
