Syntactic doubling and the structure ofwh-chains
This paper discusses cases of syntactic doubling inwh-dependencies attested in dialects of Dutch, where more than one member of the same chain is spelled out. We focus on cases of non-identical doubling, in which the chain links spelled out have different forms.

Role of tryptophan side chain dynamics on the Trp-cage mini-protein folding studied by molecular dynamics simulations. [PDF]
The 20 residue Trp-cage mini-protein is one of smallest proteins that adopt a stable folded structure containing also well-defined secondary structure elements. The hydrophobic core is arranged around a single central Trp residue.

The dependence of lipid asymmetry upon phosphatidylcholine acyl chain structure[S]
Lipid asymmetry, the difference in inner and outer leaflet lipid composition, is an important feature of biomembranes. By utilizing our recently developed MβCD-catalyzed exchange method, the effect of lipid acyl chain structure upon the ability to form ...

Structures and Stabilities of Carbon Chain Clusters Influenced by Atomic Antimony
The C-C bond lengths of the linear magnetic neutral CnSb, CnSb+ cations and CnSb− anions are within 1.255–1.336 Å, which is typical for cumulene structures with moderately strong double-bonds. In this report, we found that the adiabatic ionization energy

Single chain properties of polyelectrolytes in poor solvent [PDF]
Using molecular dynamics simulations we study the behavior of a dilute solution of strongly charged polyelectrolytes in poor solvents, where we take counterions explicitly into account.

A Model for R&D Investment, Operational Decision-Making and Cooperative Contracts of a Supply Chain in Complex Product Systems: Game Theoretic Approach [PDF]
Introduction: Despite numerous studies on supply chain cooperation, research shows that collaborations in chains with asymmetric power structures leading to R&D investment have received less attention.

Contrasting crystal packing arrangements in triiodide salts of radical cations of chiral bis(pyrrolo[3,4-d])tetrathiafulvalenes [PDF]
Crystal structures of six 1 : 1 triiodide salts of a series of enantiopure bis(pyrrolo[3,4-d])TTF derivatives, the first structures of radical cation salts reported for this bis(pyrrolo) donor system, show three different arrangements of triiodide ions ...

Structure of an intraplate fold-and-thrust belt: The Iberian Chain. A synthesis
The Iberian Chain is a complex intraplate fold-and-thrust belt resulting from the convergence between the Eurasian, Iberian and African plates during the late Eocene to the Miocene. The main trend of its contractional structures is NW-SE, but E-W, NE-SW

Soliton structures in a molecular chain model with saturation
In the present work, we study, by means of a one-dimensional lattice model, the collective excitations corresponding to intra molecular ones of a chain like proteins.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
