Archaeomaterials, Innovation, and Technological Change

open access: yesAdvances in Archaeomaterials, 2020
The field of archaeomaterials research has enormous potential to shed light on past innovation processes. However, this potential has been only partially recognized outside its immediate practitioners, despite the fact that innovation and technology change are topics of enduring interest in archaeology and the broader social sciences.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

La forme scolaire : analyse d’un concept clé pour comprendre la difficile prise en compte de l’hétérogénéité des élèves à l’école primaire française

open access: yesRecherches en Éducation
The aim of this article is twofold: on the one hand, it is to review the definition of the concept of ‘school form’ and its successive clarifications in Guy Vincent's various papers.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

L’école dans la forêt. L’exemple d’un projet pédagogique porté par une attention à l’expérience des enfants

open access: yesRecherches en Éducation
What consequences does the practice of the outdoor school have on the school form? If the spatial and temporal context is in fact modified, the pedagogical practices and the relationships established with the children depend on the teachers' will ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Integrating flux footprint, random forest, and SHAP for interpretable hourly carbon flux upscaling: Development and application in the Qilian mountains watershed

open access: yesScience of Remote Sensing
Accurate estimation of regional carbon fluxes is essential for understanding the carbon cycle. However, conventional eddy covariance (EC) upscaling methods are often limited to daily or monthly resolutions, overlooking critical sub-daily dynamics ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Strategic Managerial Change and Organisational Innovation [PDF]

open access: yes
Without any doubt, the number, amplitude and speed of changes are increasing rapidly in all fields in the last period. In this context it is essential to identify and to deal primordially with strategic changes.
