Best Approximation and Cyclic Variation Diminishing Kernels
We study best uniform approximation of periodic functions from∫2π0K(x,y)h(y)dy:|h(y)|⩽1,where the kernelK(x,y) is strictly cyclic variation diminishing, and related problems including periodic generalized perfect splines.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

On Best Simultaneous Approximation
The problem is considered of best approximation of finite number of functions simultaneously. For a very general class of norms, characterization results are derived.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Characterization of \(\varepsilon\)-nearest points in spaces with asymmetric seminorm
In this note we are concerned with the characterization of the elements of \(\varepsilon\)-best approximation (\(\varepsilon\)-nearest points) in a subspace \(Y\) of space \(X\) with asymmetric seminorm. For this we use functionals in the asymmetric dual

Characterization of generalized convex functions by best L2-approximations
AbstractLet M be a normed linear space, and {Mn}1∞ a sequence of increasing finite dimensional subspaces, i.e., Mn ⊂ Mn + 1, for all n. For any element ƒ ϵ M, we obviously have d(ƒ, Mn) ⩾ d(ƒ, Mn + 1), for all n, (1) where d(ƒ, Mk) is the distance, in the metric induced by the norm, from Mk to ƒ.In a recent paper [2], we discussed the space M = C[a,b ...

Best piecewise monotone uniform approximation
The problem considered is that of finding a best uniform approximation to a real function f ∈ C[a, b] from the class of piecewise monotone functions.

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

A characterization of the unicity property in best approximation
AbstractIn this paper we consider the problem of characterizing those situations under which the best uniform linear approximation to an arbitrary continuous function is unique. The problem has been solved by Haar where the set of approximants is a finite dimensional subspace, but in this paper we generalize this by allowing the set of approximants to ...
