On the Chatter of Lathe Tool, : 1st Report. On the Cause of Chatter
筆者は数年前削り抵抗力並に刄先の振動を正確に測定する方法を考案し、旋盤バイトのびびりに就て実驗を行つたが、その當時は被削材の振動を測定することが出耒なかつたゝめ充分な結果を得ることが出耒なかつた。今度回轉してゐる被削材の撓振動を削り抵抗力と同時に慣性の影響なく正確に測定する方法を考察し、旋盤主軸の撓に起因するびびりに就て実驗を行ひ、びびりは削り抵抗力の変化の週期が旋盤一部の自己振動の週期と一致して共鳴を起し、被削材及び刄先の振幅が著しく増大するものであることを実驗的に明かにした。
