Mechanoresponsive Hydrogels Emerging from Dynamic and Non‐Covalent Interactions
Mechanoresponsive behaviors in hydrogels often arise from dynamic or non‐covalent interactions between polymer chains. This review highlights self‐healing, shear‐thinning, shear‐thickening, and strain‐stiffening hydrogels formed through dynamic crosslinking motifs, discussing their underlying mechanisms and emergent applications across biomedical and ...

Cardiovascular disease resulting from iron accumulation is still a major cause of death in patients with thalassemia major (TM). Voltage-gated calcium-channel blockade prevents iron entry into cardiomyocytes and may provide an adjuvant treatment to ...

A zinc‐coordinated nanogel assembly is reported that co‐delivers three enzymes to regulate glucose, oxidative stress, and oxygen levels. This system mimics natural enzyme cascades to reprogram the wound environment after pancreatectomy. In a post‐pancreatectomy mouse model, it accelerates healing by reducing infection, promoting blood vessel growth ...

The surface functionalization of Eu‐doped LaF3 particles with a two‐photon absorbing IrIII complex results in the formation of ultrabright Eu:LaF3 phosphors, which exhibit a combination of short‐lived IrIII and long‐lived EuIII‐sensitized emissions. These Ir/Eu hybrids are effectively internalized by HEK‐293 cells without causing toxic effects, thereby

Intracellular Monitoring of Luminescent Ag2S Nanoparticles in Fibroblasts
This study investigates the long‐term luminescence behavior of Ag2S quantum dots (AS QDs) with three surface ligands (DTDTPA, 11MUA, PEG) in fibroblasts over 9 days. AS‐PEG showed stable uptake and enhanced NIR‐II emission, while others decreased due to oxidative stress.

Copper chelation redirects neutrophil function to enhance anti-GD2 antibody therapy in neuroblastoma
Anti-disialoganglioside (GD2) antibody therapy has provided clinical benefit to patients with neuroblastoma however efficacy is likely impaired by the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. We have previously defined a link between intratumoral copper

Iron overload and chelation therapy in hemoglobinopathies
Iron overload (IOL) is highly prevalent among patients with hemoglobinopathies; both transfusion dependent thalassemia (TDT) and non-transfusion dependent thalassemia (NTDT).

Chronic hyperplastic anemia as an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic lesions: a lesson from thalassemia intermedia [PDF]
Introduction. Cardiovascular involvement represents a well-known complication and the primary cause of mortality, both in transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia major (β-TM) and in transfusion-independent beta thalassemia intermedia (β-TI ...

To achieve efficient cancer cell death, a bowl‐shaped PDA@UiO‐66@DOX nanorobot drug‐delivery nanoplatform was developed. Near‐infrared irradiation not only drives the nanorobot to exhibit self‐thermophoretic motion and elevates temperature but also triggers Doxorubicin (DOX) release via hyperthermia, enhancing cancer cells uptake of DOX and thereby ...
